We are seeking a passionate and dedicated English Lecturer to join our team in Bedfordshire. This full-time, permanent role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on students' academic success by delivering engaging and high-quality English education.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare, deliver, and assess English courses, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning
* Support and guide students, providing constructive feedback and fostering progress
* Develop lesson plans, schemes of work, and engaging learning materials for English
* Monitor and record student progress, conduct tutorials, and provide detailed reports
* Contribute to curriculum development and create opportunities for extended learning
* Maintain an engaging and inclusive classroom environment that encourages participation
* Uphold the Student Code of Conduct and ensure a safe, supportive learning atmosphere
* Participate in student interviews, open days, and other marketing activities
* Promote safeguarding, equality, diversity, and health and safety
Candidate Profile
Qualifications & Experience
* A degree in English or a related subject
* Certificate in Education/PGCE or willingness to achieve
* GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English (grades A-C)
* Recent experience teaching and assessing GCSE English
* Knowledge of current developments in English education

* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
* Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and educational technology
