Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Recovery Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting vehicles and equipment safely and efficiently, ensuring timely delivery and collection across various locations. This role requires a professional approach, excellent driving skills, and the ability to handle mechanical tasks when necessary. The Recovery Driver will play a vital part in maintaining smooth operational workflows and delivering exceptional service to our clients.
Responsibilities
* Safely operate commercial vehicles, including flatbeds and specialised recovery lorries, to transport vehicles and equipment.
* Conduct pre-journey inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with legal requirements.
* Load and secure vehicles or cargo using appropriate mechanical knowledge and equipment.
* Navigate routes efficiently, adhering to traffic laws and company policies.
* Communicate effectively with dispatchers, clients, and team members regarding delivery schedules or any issues encountered during transit.
* Assist with basic mechanical tasks such as tyre changes or minor repairs if required.
* Maintain accurate records of deliveries, pickups, and vehicle maintenance logs.
* Ensure the vehicle is kept clean and well-maintained throughout operations.
Experience
* Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly as a delivery or recovery driver.
* Familiarity with driving flatbed lorries or specialised recovery vehicles is desirable.
* Previous warehouse experience is advantageous for handling loading and unloading procedures.
* Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with team members and clients.
* Knowledge of mechanical systems related to recovery vehicles or trucks is beneficial.
* Valid driver's licence with a clean driving record.
* Experience in handling vehicle recovery operations or similar roles is preferred but not essential.
