About the Role
ABC Teachers is seeking a qualified and enthusiastic Design and Technology Teacher for a full-time position at a secondary school in Burton-upon-Trent, starting after Christmas and continuing on an ongoing basis.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate D&T specialist to join a supportive and well-resourced department in a school that values creativity, practical learning, and student engagement.
You will be responsible for:
Planning and delivering engaging and practical D&T lessons across KS3 and KS4.
Teaching a range of specialisms
Assessing and tracking student progress in line with national curriculum standards.
Contributing to the development of resources and schemes of work within the department.
Promoting a safe working environment and ensuring full compliance with health and safety procedures in the workshop and classroom.

About You
To be considered for this role, you will need to have:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
Experience teaching Design and Technology at secondary level.
Strong subject knowledge and a genuine passion for D&T education.
Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.
A commitment to inspiring young people and promoting practical learning.
A current DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one through ABC Teachers).
Newly Qualified Teachers (ECTs) and experienced educators are both welcome to apply.
Requirements

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, with specialism in D&T
Strong classroom management and organisational skills.
Ability to inspire students and promote a love for D&T
Flexible, adaptable, and confident in different school settings.
Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, with specialism in D&T
