Job Purpose
EnerSys seeks a business development leader with 5-10 years of experience in medical device batteries to generate sales and support growth in the medical batteries sector. This role involves engaging with customers and internal teams to support bids from initial contact through product delivery, acting as the primary liaison with medical customers, and applying an entrepreneurial approach to marketing and division growth.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
* Maintain and expand existing accounts by providing excellent customer service, responding to technical requests, and negotiating contracts.
* Develop a detailed understanding of the medical battery market.
* Prospect for new business and establish new customer relationships.
* Handle inquiries from new and existing customers.
* Manage a CRM database to track opportunities over multi-year sales cycles.
* Respond to complex RFPs from medical device companies.
* Coordinate proposal activities with technical, commercial, and program management teams.
* Communicate technical product data and questions with customer technical personnel.
* Support or lead contract negotiations with the commercial team.
* Assist in contract handover to project teams post-award.
* Represent customer interests in product development and internal initiatives.
* Track prospects for forecasting and business planning.
* Contribute to the annual budget and update forecasts based on business changes.
* Develop and execute strategic plans aligned with industry trends and regulations.
* Represent the company at industry events and conferences, including presentations.
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related field (preferred).
* 5-10 years of experience in medical sales or customer management, preferably in a regulated industry.
* Excellent communication skills in English, both oral and written.
* Proficiency in Excel and other MS Office tools; CRM experience preferred.
* Strong analytical, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
* High computer proficiency and self-motivation; ability to work independently and in teams.
* Knowledge of battery technology and medical device industry is a plus.
* Willingness to travel as needed for sales, trade shows, and training.
