Security Clearance (SC) is required for this role—either currently held or with SC eligibility confirmed prior to the start date. Hybrid work arrangement: 3 days a week onsite in Manchester, Bristol, or Leeds, with flexible remote options for 2 days.

As a Solution Architect Specialist, you’ll lead the design and delivery of technical solutions aligned with business needs. You will translate customer requirements into scalable, secure architectures and guide them through BT’s governance and security sign-off processes. This role suits someone with both technical depth and strategic thinking, delivering impactful solutions for customers and the industry.
What you’ll be doing
Designing infrastructure for voice communication (VoIP) and messaging platforms (e.g., SMS, evolving towards WhatsApp-style messaging). Supporting future expansion into video calling capabilities. Contributing to federated login systems for government clients to enhance security. Leading the delivery of robust, repeatable technical solutions. Partnering with stakeholders for technical discovery and strategic alignment. Producing clear recommendations, identifying dependencies and risks. Creating innovative architectures to address complex challenges.
The skills you'll need
Experience in designing and delivering solution architectures meeting functional and non-functional requirements. Presenting solutions to customers and guiding them through governance and security processes. Infrastructure design for voice and messaging systems, including VoIP and SMS. Applying cybersecurity principles. Working with customers on large or complex accounts. Navigating frameworks like NIST CSF, ISO 27002, CIS Controls. Developing scalable solutions across cloud platforms. Integrating systems via APIs and web services. Gathering requirements and translating them into technical outcomes. Aligning solutions with product roadmaps and strategic goals.
Preferred additional experience: Experience with public sector or business clients; background in consumer environments and access management.
