The Role
In this Selly Oak based role, you will be teaching pupils with a range of needs, including Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), and Autism (ASD). Your duties will include:

Planning and delivering sensory-based and highly differentiated lessons.

Working with both Primary and Secondary aged students depending on your specialism.
*
Collaborating with Multi-Disciplinary Teams (MDT), including Speech and Language Therapists and Physios.
*
Leading a team of Teaching Assistants to provide a safe, nurturing, and high-quality learning environment.
*
Tracking progress through small-step assessment frameworks and EHCP targets.

Requirements
To be successful as an SEN Teacher in this role, you must have:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
*
Significant experience working as an SEN Teacher in a special school or SRP setting.
*
Experience with Makaton, PECS, or Team Teach is highly desirable.
*
A patient, resilient, and creative approach to teaching.
*
A valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
*
The right to work in the UK and a commitment to working in the Birmingham area.
