An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Strategic Change Lead to work within the Strategy & Planning Team at North West Ambulance Service. Reporting to the Strategy & Planning Senior Lead, the post holder will be responsible for the design and development of strategic workstreams within NWAS. The postholder will act as a strategic business partner and work with stakeholders across the organisation to NWAS has clear, measurable change workstreams that deliver our strategic aims and objectives. The post holder will be expected to utilise specialist change management skills to ensure strategic change is effectively planned.
Main duties of the job
The post is considered a senior leadership role within NWAS, therefore the post holder must be able to demonstrate extensive experience of strategic thinking and change management. As part of our leadership population, you will be required to promote and role model our Be Think Do leadership philosophy, ensuring that you support team members by being the best leaders we can be for ourselves and each other.
There is an expectation that the post holder will work flexibly across the Strategy & Planning team to support the delivery of organisational priorities and objectives.
The post-holder will be based at NWAS’ Trust headquarters, Ladybridge Hall in Bolton, however all members of the team are expected to adopt an agile working approach which comprises a mix of home and office working.
Working for our organisation
North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust provides 24 hour, 365 days a year accident and emergency services to those in need of emergency medical treatment and transport.
Our highly skilled staff provide life-saving care to patients in the community and take people to hospital or a place of care if needed.
We also provide non-emergency patient transport services for those patients who require non-emergency transport to and from hospital and who are unable to travel unaided because of their medical condition or clinical need.
Alongside the other emergency services, we also work to ensure the safety of the public and treatment of patients in the event of a major incident.
We also deliver the NHS 111 service in the North West. NHS 111 replaced NHS Direct in 2013. This service was introduced to make it easier for people to access local NHS healthcare services in England. It provides non-emergency medical help fast, and is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
1. Educated to Master’s Degree level in a relevant subject or be able to demonstrate significant equivalent relevant experience.
2. PRINCE2 Practitioner qualified
3. Specialist transformation, service development, change management or quality improvement knowledge and experience.
4. MSP Qualified or equivalent experience
5. Formal qualification and/or demonstrable experience in a transformation, quality/service improvement role.
Desirable criteria
6. APMG Change Management Practitioner qualified

7. Able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with staff at all levels in technical and non- technical subjects, which may be sensitive/ contentious.
8. Exceptional presentation skills.
9. Able to write clear and concise technical reports.
10. Strong, evidenced negotiation and influencing skills.
11. Competent user of IT systems and mainstream Microsoft Office applications.
