A little about myself: Hello, I am a little boy who has cerebral palsy who lives in Swansea.
I love to go on walks and to the park, I will need to hold hands as sometimes I can try and run off and I can be a little unsteady on my feet if I am tired.
I need some help with using the toilet.
I am happy and smiley and love having 1:1 attention.
I enjoy spending time playing on my phone.
I will need a PA who has the use of their own car or who is happy to take me out on the bus.
Rate of pay: Meets national min wage or higher.
Direct Payments hours: 4 hours a week during term time 6 hours a week during school holidays
Essential skills for this role:
My PA would need to have a clean, valid driving licence who is happy to take me out in their car, or to help me take the bus.
Someone who has a caring and responsible attitude
You would need to ensure that I am always safe
My PA would need to be reliable and punctual; I get very excited when it is time to go out.
Someone who is fun and loves to play
Someone who is willing to undertake any training identified as relating to the post e.g.
Manual Handling Course, Basic First Aid
Someone who is experienced in working with children/young people who have additional needs I’d like support with:
Having fun days out to the park, to the beach, or into Swansea.
All instructions and training will be discussed at interview.
I will need my PA to:
Respect and understand the importance privacy and confidentiality.
Strict adherence to the regulations of GDPR
Be confident, mature and have patience.
Be dependable and arrive on time.
Be friendly, honest and respectful with an easy-going manner.
Concerning the position IMPORTANT A trial period will be necessary in the first instance in the form of a six-month probationary period.
Salary will be paid monthly (Annual leave is calculated on a pro rata basis). A DBS MUST be processed prior to any commencement of employment.
Costs of DBS will be met by Swansea council where applicant is eligible.
On application of a DBS the PA will also be registered for mandatory E-learning which will need to be completed within first 4 weeks of employment.
