About the Role
A specialist SEMH school in Oxford is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs. The school provides a structured and nurturing environment where Mental Health Support is embedded into daily learning for students who may face challenges such as anxiety, trauma, or behavioural difficulties.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including therapists, counsellors, and psychologists.
- Support students on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
- Help deliver tailored learning and behaviour plans.
- Encourage emotional regulation and provide consistent Mental Health Support throughout the school day.
- Contribute to a safe and supportive classroom environment and collaborate with staff to ensure each child receives holistic care.
Qualifications
- A degree in Psychology, Counselling, Criminology, Education, or a related field (or relevant experience).
- Passion for Mental Health Support and SEN.
- Resilience, patience, and adaptability.
- Strong communication skills and a proactive approach.
