Description Opportunity Overview The University of Salford is home to one of the UK’s largest centres of teaching and research in journalism and the broader media industries. We are recruiting a new member of our academic team to join us at MediaCity, to contribute to and help develop our fast-growing undergraduate programme in Sports Journalism. We’re looking for an enthusiastic and inspirational lecturer with a proven record of accomplishment in professional sports journalism practice and experience of teaching in higher education. A track record of developing successful research projects is also essential. Key Responsibilities Teaching on a variety of modules, mainly on our undergraduate programme in Sports Journalism The expertise to support students in using digital technologies and techniques to produce sports media content Working with media companies, sports clubs and other relevant organisations, to help develop opportunities for students Keeping our students up to date with contemporary research, trends and ethical challenges in journalism, the media and sport Contributing to the research agenda of the School, in the context of the UK’s Research Excellence Framework (REF).
