About the Role
As part of the Living and Ageing Well service, you will deliver occupational therapy within adult social care, providing equipment, adaptations, and support to promote independence and wellbeing. You will work with colleagues, partner agencies and other professionals to provide a high‑quality, responsive and professional service that leads to positive outcomes for adults with care and support needs.
Main Duties, Tasks & Skills Required
* Complete occupational therapy assessments for adults’ personal independence and occupations in accordance with current legislation and in conjunction with other team members or professional workers.
* Advise and, where possible, teach methods of carrying out daily activities to help individuals overcome a disability and promote independent living.
* Recommend and provide standard, specialised, and moving and handling equipment, and give guidance to clients and their carers in its use.
* Advise on the provision of simple and complex structural adaptations to clients’ homes, liaising with other agencies to facilitate this work.
* Provide advice, information, and guidance on other services available from social services and other agencies.
* Communicate effectively with clients and colleagues, maintain written and electronic records in accordance with Directorate policies and the ‘Access to Records’ policy.
* Promote the Occupational Therapy service to users, colleagues, and other agencies and identify and contribute to future service developments.
* Work closely with colleagues in healthcare teams, private and voluntary sectors, and other directorates to achieve the best possible outcomes for clients and their carers.

Salary
Salary band: £41,771 – £46,141 per annum; starting salary £41,771 with annual progression through the salary bands.
