Overview
An exciting opportunity for a full‑time Band 4 Therapy Assistant Practitioner working within the Ipswich East Integrated Neighbourhood Team (INT). The position may be considered as a Band 3 developmental role.
Location
The INT team is based at Constantine House, 5 Constantine Road, Ipswich IP1 2DH, and you will work across the Ipswich East area and the wider community services.
Team
The team consists of Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, District & Community nurses, Assistant practitioners, generic workers and social care workers. The Therapy team is led by a Band 7 Therapy Lead and an INT manager oversees all teams.
Responsibilities
* Manage a designated caseload of patients.
* Provide skilled support to registered therapists in delivering technical therapy interventions in a variety of settings.
* Use an evidence‑based, person‑centred approach for planning, implementation, evaluation and monitoring of agreed interventions following guidelines and protocols to promote functional fitness and aid discharge from hospital in line with patients’ abilities, preferences and cultural beliefs.
* Work flexibly over a seven‑day service.
* Communicate complex and sensitive information effectively to patients, employing persuasion, motivation, explanation, negotiation and empathy, and addressing potential barriers such as hearing loss, speech difficulty, anxiety, fear and depression.
