Job Description:
Overview
Are you interested in running your own pub business? The Marsh Harrier in Saint Ives, Cambridgeshire, is available now on Marston’s Community Food Partnership agreement.
The Marsh Harrier is situated just off the busy A1123. The pub welcomes families, friends, workers, and shoppers from the nearby business park. Inside, there is an L-shaped bar, a pizza oven, and a play area for children. Outside, there is a large patio and car park, as well as another play area. The pub currently generates an estimated £18,000 in weekly sales, with an 80/20 dry to wet sales mix. We seek someone passionate, engaging, and a keen marketer who can build on the pub's success.
Our Community Food Partnership is ideal for individuals with pub or restaurant experience, passionate about pubs, and dedicated to serving great food and memorable experiences. With low initial costs and comprehensive training and support, this is a fantastic opportunity to run your own business. You will have the potential for unlimited sales, supported by a guaranteed annual sum for peace of mind.
What’s in it for you?
* A guaranteed annual retained sum of £35,000, paid weekly.
* Plus a 26% share of weekly sales, excluding VAT.
* Incentive bonuses based on performance and audits.
* Low initial costs: £5,000 deposit and £360 legal fees. See ‘Things to consider’ for details.
* Accommodation included, with most bills covered (excluding council tax & TV license).
* Stock and consumables supplied by Marston’s; you manage them post-delivery.
* Comprehensive induction and ongoing training.
* A dedicated area manager to support your growth.
* Access to a support team of over 450 specialists in marketing, recruitment, and food & drink.
* Free access to our Learning and Development platform, Campus (worth over £300).
What’s expected from you:
The pub is food-led, operating Marston’s menu. It’s ideal for self-sufficient hospitality managers with creativity, sales drive, and high standards.
Additional requirements include a £5,000 security deposit, legal costs (£360), and your own insurance (excluding building insurance, which we cover). You’ll also need to handle employment matters and provide proof of independent financial advice, a sustainable business plan, and personal license (assistance available). The commitment is five years, with options for early exit after six months with notice.
