Head of Science – Ealing, Inner London Lead a Core Faculty and Drive STEM Excellence at a High-Performing Academy We are seeking an inspirational, strategic, and highly committed Head of Science to lead the large and successful faculty at a highly regarded secondary academy in the Ealing area of Inner West London. This is a full-time, permanent position starting in January 2026. Recruitment and Retention (R&R) Allowance of £2,000 available The Opportunity The successful applicant will be an outstanding Science leader ready to manage a team of specialists and oversee the curriculum, teaching standards, and academic outcomes across all three science disciplines. You will be responsible for driving whole-faculty improvement, managing resources, and ensuring the delivery of consistently high-quality teaching that secures excellent results at GCSE and A-Level. A key part of the role is promoting student progression into STEM subjects at leading universities. This significant leadership role comes with a substantial Teaching and Learning Responsibility (TLR) payment appropriate for a Head of Faculty. To attract the best talent, we also offer a Recruitment and Retention (R&R) Allowance of £2,000 per annum. We Are Looking For: A qualified teacher with QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) and a degree in a core Science subject (Physics, Chemistry, or Biology). A proven track record of successfully leading or significantly contributing to the leadership of a large Science department. Expertise in curriculum design, assessment, and data analysis to drive improvement. A clear strategic vision for developing scientific literacy and academic excellence. The ability to inspire, mentor, and line-manage a team of specialist teachers and support staff. Salary and Benefits Main Pay Scale/Upper Pay Scale (MPS/UPS) for Teachers. The base salary will be paid according to experience within the statutory Inner London Pay Scale (The Inner London Main Pay Range minimum is approximately £40,317 as of September 2025). A Teaching and Learning Responsibility (TLR) payment (The specific amount will be confirmed based on the size and complexity of the faculty, typically falling within the high TLR 1 band, ranging from approximately £10,174 to £17,216 per annum for 2025/2026).
