Job Overview
The Principal Safety & Environmental Engineer will support the derivation and management of Product Safety requirements, work in accordance with Project Safety Management Plans, influence safe design development, and contribute to hazard identification and safety case documentation. The role involves peer reviews, verification, and assurance tasks to ensure safety compliance.
Responsibilities
1. Support Product Safety requirements derivation from hazard and risk identification.
2. Ensure adherence to Project Safety Management Plans.
3. Contribute to the development of safe design and safety case justification reports.
4. Participate in hazard identification meetings and maintain hazard logs.
5. Perform peer reviews and verification to demonstrate safety case robustness.
Qualifications and Skills
* Understanding of engineering safety management, hazard analysis, and safety case reports.
* Knowledge of safety within systems engineering, including requirements establishment and delivery.
* Understanding of ALARP principles and their application.
* Experience with systems engineering tools such as DOORS and Enterprise Architect.
* Experience working in defense or complex systems involving software products.
