Product Engineering at JLR is centred on innovation and creativity. From advanced driver assistance systems to developing the future of electric propulsion, the opportunities to create exceptional experiences for the future of motoring are wide-ranging. You’ll work alongside industry experts to drive product strategy, manage programs, analyse performance, and lead transformation initiatives. Exceptional careers that bring world‑renowned vehicles to life start here.

Shape the systems behind next‑generation automated driving and ADAS technologies. Join a collaborative engineering team where innovation meets real‑world impact. Help deliver safer, smarter and more connected mobility.

As a Systems Engineer, you’ll play a vital role in defining and integrating the platforms that underpin assisted and automated driving. Working at the forefront of innovation, you’ll help translate ambitious ideas into robust, scalable solutions. This is your chance to push boundaries, channel your curiosity and contribute to a future shaped by Modern Luxury, while growing your skills alongside some of the brightest minds in the industry.

What To Expect

In this role, you’ll be at the centre of complex, cross‑functional engineering. Collaborating with experts across software, hardware and integration, you’ll help align technical direction and bring clarity to sophisticated systems. It’s a challenging environment where your ideas shape outcomes and your development accelerates.

* Developing and maintaining systems engineering artefacts to support AAD platform architecture and delivery
* Creating system models that provide a clear, coherent and maintainable source of truth for platform design
* Driving technical alignment across domains, ensuring solutions are fit for purpose and meet programme goals
* Supporting evidence‑based decision making, evaluating design options and resolving complex cross‑functional issues
* Contributing to future vehicle architecture concepts and continuously improving systems engineering practices

What You’ll Need

Along with your ambition to achieve the exceptional, there are several skills you’ll need to succeed here, including:

* Demonstrating broad systems engineering expertise across concept design, requirements, architecture and quality activities
* Understanding AUTOSAR, embedded systems and operating systems such as QNX, Linux or Android
* Applying experience of developing embedded systems or ECUs within complex environments
* Interpreting complex system concepts quickly and translating them into practical solutions
* Designing new vehicle features and system concepts with a structured, analytical approach

At JLR, you’ll find more than a role. You’ll discover a place where individuality is celebrated, ideas matter and growth is supported. With a culture of creativity, tailored benefits and a strong focus on wellbeing, this is a place where you can bring your full self to work and thrive.

Benefits

This role is rewarding in more ways than one. On top of our core offering, you’ll do extraordinary work with amazing people. In addition, you can expect a wide range of benefits:

* Discounted car purchase (open to family members, too)
* A 52 week maternity leave policy and a 4 week paternity leave policy. Other parental leave policies are available
* A competitive pension
* A JLR company performance‑related bonus
* An employee learning scheme providing funding for education, training and other activities which support the development of personal skills and promote lifelong learning
* Access to open, employee‑led support and social networks
* Comprehensive Life Assurance and Income Protection policies
* Flexible working

Creating Modern Luxury requires a modern approach to work. At JLR, hybrid working is a voluntary, non‑contractual arrangement providing employees more choice and flexibility around how, when and where they work. Some roles require more on‑site work, but details of this can be discussed with the hiring manager during the interview stage.

We work hard to nurture a culture that is inclusive and welcoming to all. We understand candidates may require reasonable adjustments during the recruitment process. Please discuss these with your recruiter so we can accommodate your needs.

Applicants from all backgrounds are welcome. If you’re unsure that you meet the full criteria of a role – but you’re interested in where it could take you – we still encourage you to apply. We believe in people’s ability to grow and develop within their role – it’s what makes living the exceptional with soul possible.

JLR is committed to equal opportunity for all.
