PROJECT MANAGER - SOUTHAMPTON
We are currently recruiting for a Project Manager to manage our civil engineering contract at Fawley refinery in Southampton. This is a senior position, and the Project Manager is responsible for the safe, timely, and profitable delivery of all projects at the refinery, comprising civil engineering, facilities management, and reactive maintenance.
This is a full-time, site-based role, working 45 hours each week from Monday to Friday. Reporting to the Contracts Manager, responsibilities include but are not limited to:
1. Performing a leadership role, overseeing all live projects at Fawley refinery
2. Overseeing a large team of 75 personnel at any one time
3. Managing commercial performance and working with the commercial team
4. Collaborating with the SHEQ team to ensure safe work delivery, environmental compliance, and quality standards
5. Reviewing upcoming work and coordinating with the bid team on tender submissions
6. Attending progress meetings
7. Managing project programmes in conjunction with the Planning team
8. Conducting regular site visits to maintain high safety and quality standards
9. Problem-solving and people management, leading by example
10. Influencing change and continuous improvement
11. Interfacing with clients, attending regular meetings, and reporting project progress and timelines
12. Representing Trant at union meetings and collaborating with unions
13. Working closely with the commercial team to ensure projects are managed in line with contracts
Skills, knowledge, and qualification requirements:
1. BEng/HND in Civil Engineering
2. CSCS certification
3. Experience delivering civil engineering projects within an Oil & Gas or Petrochemical environment
4. Understanding of Health & Safety legislation
5. Strong management skills
6. Analytical and problem-solving abilities
7. IT literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
8. Excellent communication and negotiation skills, capable of working effectively with staff at all levels
