3 months contract with a Local Authority
Job Summary:
• We are seeking hardworking, conscientious, and physically fit individuals with proven experience in caretaking or cleaning within a professional environment.
• As part of the in-house Caretaking Team, you will play a vital role in ensuring that internal and external communal areas across housing estates are clean, safe, and well-maintained.
Key Duties/Accountabilities (Sample):
• Cleaning communal areas including stairwells, corridors, entrances, car parks, and service roads.
• Performing tasks such as mopping, sweeping, dusting, litter picking, and bulk waste removal.
• Supporting building and fire safety by adhering to relevant legislation and site procedures.
• Conducting regular site inspections and reporting maintenance or safety issues.
• Working collaboratively with the team to meet daily and weekly cleaning schedules.
Skills/Experience:
• Prior experience in caretaking, facilities, or commercial cleaning.
• Understanding of health & safety, fire safety, and building safety regulations.
• Basic manual handling awareness and physical capability for manual tasks.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in an outdoor and indoor setting.
• Good interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate clearly with colleagues and residents.
Additional Information:
• Full, clean UK Manual Driving Licence (essential).
• Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:00pm (45 mins lunch Mon–Thurs, 1 hour Fri).
• Contract: Temporary, 12 weeks (with potential extension).
