Job Title: Senior Support Worker
Location: Children’s Home (4 Solo Homes)
Job Type: Full-Time
Reports To: Registered Manager / Deputy Manager
We are looking for an experienced and compassionate Senior Support Worker to support care teams across four solo homes, each caring for one young person with complex trauma, attachment needs, and behavioural challenges.
This is a hands-on senior role focused on delivering consistent, trauma-informed care using DDP and the PACE model (Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity, Empathy), while supporting colleagues on shift and helping maintain high standards of care.
Key Responsibilities
*
Deliver and model high-quality, trauma-informed practice, supporting young people through co-regulation, therapeutic consistency, and relationship-based care.
*
Provide guidance and support to staff on shift, promoting reflective practice and responding to behaviour with understanding rather than control-based approaches.
*
Ensure safeguarding, care planning, risk management, recording, medication, and regulatory requirements (including Children’s Homes Regulations 2015) are consistently met.
*
Support managers with shift coordination, incident debriefs, and maintaining warm, safe, and nurturing home environments.
*
Work collaboratively with managers and external professionals to promote positive outcomes and meaningful progress for each young person.
About You
*
Experience in residential childcare and supporting young people with trauma and attachment needs.
*
Confident taking the lead on shift and supporting colleagues.
*
Calm, reflective, and committed to therapeutic, relationship-based practice.
*
Flexible to work in line with the needs of the service.
If you are passionate about making a real difference and ready to take the next step in your residential childcare career, we’d love to hear from you
