The role
As an Engineering Manager, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. An incredible opportunity has arisen to work across Babcock’s Ship building Lines of business supporting the Arrowhead Meicznik Programme.
Day-to-day, you’ll be responsible for the systems and functions delegated to them within a project(s) and are responsible for ensuring the technical solution, meets the customer’s requirement and that the technical risks are managed. You’ll also:
1. Ensure the design and supplier’s equipment meets the contract requirements
2. Ability to manage stakeholders, to ensure delivery of outputs is in accordance with the project plan and to the contract’s quality standards
3. Management of technical change
4. Management of technical risk
5. Independent reviewer of the technical development of the design and assisting in resolving technical issues
This role is full time, 37 hours per week and is adaptable and can be delivered from various locations including Bristol, Devonport or Rosyth This role is based in Poland for the first 9-12 months.
Essential experience of the Engineering Manager:
6. Proven Naval Surface Ships shipbuilding knowledge and experience within their area of expertise.
7. Ability to be flexible and mindful of cultural differences when managing the international customers
Qualifications for the Engineering Manager
8. Chartered Engineer, Engineering degree or comparable academic standard, in relevant discipline
9. Association of Project Management (APM) Project Management Qualification (PMQ) or equivalent
