Job Description:
Sir Robert McAlpine has secured a prestigious contract to construct a state-of-the-art Battery Manufacturing Facility. The initial phase of the project includes the design and construction of a new 15GWh lithium-ion battery facility, ancillary buildings, and site-wide external works.
This Package Manager role will oversee work packages within the Structure and Envelop team as part of our £800m project.

The Package Manager - Structural Steel:
Reporting to the Infrastructure Project Manager, you will manage trade-contractor packages within the infrastructure and substructure team, leading engineers and subcontractors to deliver the project safely and to high standards.
We are looking for someone who:
* Takes ownership of their package, ensuring all works are planned, safe, and the site within their package area is clean and organized.
* Has a ‘boots on the ground' mentality to promote safety leadership and ensure works are carried out as planned and safely.
* Plans and oversees logistical requirements within their package, liaising with the Works Manager and Logistics Contractor.
* Produces short-term programmes and phase plans to accelerate works or mitigate issues to ensure on-time delivery.
* Monitors progress and performance, analyzing trends, and reports implications to the Project Manager and package planner.
* Collaborates with the infrastructure team, considering the ‘big picture'.
* Ensures technical aspects and compliance of the package with contract documents, specifications, and drawings.
* Reviews and approves Inspection and Test Plans.
* Conducts quality inspections using FieldView.
* Manages technical submittals and RFIs within their scope.
* Ensures the package meets scope and sub-contract requirements, understanding SRM obligations.
* Records key events and activities.
* Promotes the SRM Build Sure culture.
Your profile:
* Strong leadership skills
* Experience delivering multi-million-pound building projects
* Managed structural steelwork and façade packages on high-profile projects, ensuring quality and safety
* Managed subcontractors for steel fabrication and façade installation, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to contracts
* Led progress meetings, providing reports and corrective actions
* Oversaw procurement, negotiating with suppliers for quality and price
* Worked with design and engineering teams to resolve technical challenges
* Managed site activities, ensuring compliance with safety regulations
* Experience building clean and dry rooms on industrial projects
* Experience in industrial MEP fitout
* Knowledge of NEC contracts and management of Early Warning Notices and Compensation Events
* Good knowledge of building products, construction details, and standards
* Familiarity with construction software such as FieldView, 4P, Dalux, and Asta is desirable
