This role is part of a team responsible for developing and maintaining a high standard of service to all patients, clients, staff, and customers. You will assist in the provision of Catering Services and help deliver these services to the highest possible standard, while adhering to budgetary requirements and Domestic Safety procedures. Temporary role (Until January 2026).
Responsibilities
* Working in accordance with duty rotas and work schedules laid down by the Deputy General Manager for Catering/Domestic Services.
* Practising a good standard of hygiene in all aspects of the job.
* Carry out, sign and date all cleaning duties in accordance with cleaning schedules.
* Daily and weekly use of equipment and materials.
* Ordering, receiving and receipting non-foodstuffs and cleaning materials.
* Following cleaning methods as per instruction and work schedules for all equipment, surfaces and floors.
* Wearing of protective clothing supplied and adherence to C.O.S.H.H., H.A.C.C.P., Food Safety and Health and Safety regulations at all times.
* Reporting the need for repairs to equipment, machinery to Estates Services Department
* Reporting accidents/incidents immediately they occur
Skills and Qualifications
* Basic numeracy & literacy skills
* Ability to work shifts: Mornings, Evenings and (as applicable). All staff will be required to work in various locations and Departments within the Hospital environment to carry out the duties of the post.
* Ability to cope with difficult situations in a calm and professional manner as part of a team in a patient/user focused environment.
* Understanding of the importance of confidentiality in the work place.
* As part of the reference checking and vetting process for this position you will be requested to undertake an AccessNI Disclosure. Having a criminal record will not necessarily be a bar to obtaining a position
