We are currently recruiting for a skilled and proactive Mechanical and Electrical Preventative Maintenance Engineer to join our client at a busy metal waste recycling facility.This is a night-shift role, working Sunday through Thursday, and requires a flexible, hands-on approach to support the smooth and safe operation of our plant. Shepshed LE12 Key Responsibilities Carry out scheduled preventative maintenance on mechanical and electrical systems across the site. Diagnose and repair faults in machinery and equipment, ensuring minimal downtime. Support reactive maintenance tasks as needed during the night shift. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and report any recurring issues. Collaborate with the day team to ensure continuity and effective handovers. Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental regulations and company procedures. Requirements Proven experience in both mechanical and electrical maintenance, ideally in an industrial or recycling environment. Recognised qualifications in mechanical and/or electrical engineering (e.g., NVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent). Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively on night shifts. A flexible attitude to working hours and tasks, with a willingness to support other teams when required. Desirable Experience working in a metal recycling or heavy industrial setting. Knowledge of PLCs and automated systems.
