Responsibilities

* Shape and champion the vision and strategic direction for analytics across B&Q's core business functions, ensuring alignment to business priorities and measurable outcomes.
* Build strong partnerships with leaders across multiple core business functions to understand challenges, influence priorities, and identify where analytics can drive performance and efficiency.
* Lead the shift towards product-oriented, reusable analytics assets, ensuring existing solutions are scaled and repurposed where appropriate to avoid duplication, accelerate delivery, and drive long-term business value.
* Develop the roadmap for future analytical capability, working with the Head of Analytics & Data Science to define resourcing needs, delivery models, and governance standards.
* Identify the data sources required to unlock priority analytical use cases, and work with Data Enablement to shape, refine and prioritise the development of data products that support cross-functional value delivery.
* Lead the delivery of high-quality, actionable analysis that informs strategic and operational decisions.
* Build and lead a high-performing analytics team, creating a culture of growth, collaboration, and delivery excellence.
* Champion modern tooling and delivery practices (e.g. Databricks, Power BI, Azure/AWS/GCP etc) to ensure analytics is scalable, secure, and efficient.
* Collaborate closely with Data Science, Data Visualisation & Automation, and Product Management to deliver joined-up, end-to-end analytical solutions.
* Coach, mentor and challenge analysts, improving the team's technical depth, business understanding, and commercial impact.
* Lead the change in how analytics is understood and adopted across the business, influencing mindsets, embedding new ways of working, and ensuring teams are supported through the transition to a data-led culture.
* Embed strong governance and quality standards, ensuring analytical outputs are reliable, well-documented, and repeatable.
* Play a visible leadership role across B&Q and the wider Kingfisher data community, sharing best practice and driving a joined-up approach to analytical delivery.
* Champion data literacy across the organisation, helping business teams become more confident in interpreting and using data.
* Stay up to date with external trends and best practices to ensure B&Q's analytics capabilities remain modern and commercially relevant.

Qualifications

* Significant experience leading analytics teams and defining analytical strategy within a complex organisation, ideally in retail, or a similar data-rich environment.
* Proven track record of delivering business impact through analytics, from diagnostic insight to predictive or optimisation-based work.
* Strong technical grounding, able to guide and review analytical work, with proficiency in SQL and working knowledge of Python.
* Experience operating within modern cloud data environments (for example Databricks), understanding how data is accessed, transformed and deployed for analytics at scale.
* Experienced in modern, agile analytics delivery using version control, CI/CD, and cloud-based toolings.
* Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, able to translate analytical findings into clear, actionable business narratives.
* Demonstrated ability to lead, coach and develop managers and analysts, building a high-performance culture.
* Commercially minded, strategic, and comfortable operating through ambiguity to set direction and deliver tangible results.
* Strong consultative skills, able to work with senior stakeholders to understand business problems, shape the analytical approach, and ensure solutions are adopted and deliver measurable value.

As part of a great team, you'll be valued for who you are. We're committed to making B&Q more diverse and representative of the communities we serve, where everyone can feel they belong and have equal opportunities. You will have access to a range of networks that represent our colleagues and allies and help us to continue to put diversity and inclusion at the heart of our business.
