What You’ll Be Doing:

You will be a valued member of the Retirement team at XXXXX, working in a fast-paced environment where you will make a meaningful difference in residents’ lives. As a Guest Attendant, you’ll develop a deep understanding of your residents and their living experience. You will build relationships with residents and their families, offering support options and program choices that enrich their daily health and well-being. As part of a team, you will contribute to the home’s culture, focusing on helping residents live fully every day.

The Guest Attendant reports to the Director of Wellness and supports activities of daily living and housekeeping as assigned, using customer service principles to provide exceptional service. You may also assist with recreation program support in various locations.

The role requires performing duties in line with core values, ensuring resident safety, and demonstrating customer service excellence.

Responsibilities include:

* Assisting residents with activities of daily living such as eating, dressing, transferring, toileting, hygiene, grooming, and bathing, according to individual care plans, promoting independence and observing/reporting changes.
* Answering call bells and door alarms promptly, providing courteous service.
* Transporting residents to/from rooms, activities, health office, and dining areas.
* Completing laundry and housekeeping duties as assigned.
* Dealing tactfully and courteously with residents and families, reporting concerns to supervisors.
* Practicing safe food handling techniques.
* Participating in resident admission and transfer processes.
* Collaborating with other departments and outside agencies to ensure continuity of care.
* Communicating issues related to resident care and safety to the Director of Wellness.
* Completing resident engagement activities.
* Maintaining personal grooming and a professional appearance.
* Keeping areas of the building clean and ready for visitors.
* Greeting visitors positively and offering assistance.
* Promoting positive communication with team members.
* Reporting incidents and completing documentation as required.
* Following health and safety policies, using PPE, and maintaining infection control standards.
* Participating in emergency drills and education sessions.
* Performing other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

* Safe Serve designation and at least one year of dining room service experience.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Current CPR and guest attendant training recommended.
* Experience working with seniors and knowledge of aging.
* Effective communication skills in English.

Education:

Minimum grade 12 education.

Working Conditions:

* Interaction with residents of diverse backgrounds.
* Variable lighting and outdoor exposure.
* Temperature fluctuations, lifting, pushing, and bending.
