What’s the role?
As the Senior Property Surveyor you will be responsible for delivering expert technical leadership across surveying functions within the SIAM team. You will be required to manage complex building surveying activities, lead a team of surveyors, and ensure that Lewisham’s housing stock is safe, compliant with statutory requirements, sustainable, and maintained to high standards. The role will be responsible in assisting the asset and stock investment managers with ensuring compliance with regulations, managing budgets and liaising with residents to deliver safe, high-quality homes, often involving detailed technical reports, specifications, and project management from inception to completion.

What we’re looking for
7. An experienced property professional with strong technical surveying expertise and knowledge of housing regulations.
8. Proven ability to manage complex projects from inception to completion, producing high‑quality technical reports and specifications.
9. A strong understanding of compliance, building safety, and risk management within a housing or asset management environment.
10. Experience supporting or leading budget management and ensuring value for money in investment programmes.
11. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with residents, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
12. A collaborative leader who can support teams and contribute to delivering safe, high‑quality homes.
Location
The job is primarily based in Laurence House, but we operate a hybrid approach where you will be required to work both in the office and from home on a regular basis.
Special conditions
13. Degree (or equivalent) in Building Surveying or a related construction discipline
14. Professional membership such as MRICS/MCIOB or working toward
15. The job is subject to a Basic DBS check
