We have an exciting opportunity to recruit an enthusiastic, dedicated individual to support the Imaging Regulatory Compliance Team in promoting quality, safety and governance across our imaging and cardiac diagnostics departments. We are looking for someone who is comfortable in the both clinical and office workspace environment, and is looking for a dynamic, fast-paced role, interacting with a variety of multidisciplinary stakeholders. The individual should have skills and temperament to work in a collaborative manner across a wide range of internal services and external partners and display sound knowledge of radiography clinical practice


Main duties of the job

The post holder will work as a member of the Imaging Regulatory Compliance Team to coordinate and deliver a range of activities at site level and within individual service groups, to ensure compliance with imaging quality, radiation safety, and regulatory standards. This individual will work with the Group Radiation Safety Assurance Manager and Group Imaging Quality Manager on the Radiation Assurance and imaging accreditation programmes. The postholder will work across the hospital sites of the Barts Health Group and in collaboration with the North East London Imaging Network, working with departments where ionising and non-ionising radiation is used for the diagnosis and treatment of disease, screening programmes and research. The programme will ensure consistency of approach across all hospital sites, minimising duplication and promoting best practice

Person Specification


Qualifications

* BSc or equivalent in Diagnostic Radiography
* Professional registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
* Evidence of, or working towards post registration qualification (professional or managerial) at MSc/PG dip level, or equivalent
* Qualifications in Quality Management


Experience

* Demonstratable experience in an imaging department with subject matter expertise in chosen modality
* Experience of working at a senior level within an imaging service.
* Development and implementation of Radiographic protocols and procedures
* Current experience of managing a complex area of work and leading a multi-disciplinary team.
* Current experience of staff management in MDT working, including HR Issues
* Experience of working with ionising and/or non-ionising radiation in a managerial capacity
* Ability to interpret basic data and identify trends, attained through degree level education or relevant demonstratable experience
* Awareness of the principles of clinical governance
* Experience of formally presenting information to large groups of people
* Experience of audit in evaluating and developing a Service
* Experience of influencing staff, for whom you have no direct management responsibility
* A track record of implementing and managing change and working with accredited services.
* Experience in CQC readiness
* Experience or demonstratable knowledge of project management
* Experience of writing business cases/feasibility projects.
* Experience of reporting at directorate board level or higher
* Experiencing chairing meetings.
* Involvement with devising and implementing competency frameworks for staff training
* Experience of investigating incidents and managing outcomes.
* Documented evidence of Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
* Recognised project /programme qualification i.e. Prince 2, agile PM, MSP
* Evidence of work in developing or assisting the development of Quality Systems.

* Interpersonal skills i.e. excellent communication skills and ability to establish effective working relationships with all staff
* Leadership skills, able to set objectives, and hold people to account.
* Organised, able to proactively self-manage timescales and prioritise.
* Ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organisation including with trust executives
* Evidence of managing a stressful situation to a successful outcome
* Good IT skills i.e. sound working knowledge of the internet and of programs such as MS Teams, MS-Excel and MS-Word, as well as imaging based systems such as PACS/RIS/SmartID
* Able to proof-read and undertake document control
* Proven people management skills, leads by example demonstrating adherence to Trust WeCare Vision and Values.
* Demonstrates inclusive attitudes and behaviours
* Recent experience of managing complaints/ challenging attitudes and behaviours.
* Recent experience of managing staff expectations
* Experience of using Q-Pulse, iPassport or another QMS.


Knowledge

* Extensive knowledge and understanding of Clinical & Radiation Governance, relevant to imaging and managing a modality area.
* Extensive knowledge and understanding of Clinical & Radiation Governance, relevant to imaging and managing a modality area.
* Awareness of the legal responsibilities of an imaging service to patients, service users, and staff.
* Knowledge of current issues within healthcare and radiography.
* Knowledge of national standards, guidelines, legislation related to imaging governance and quality management.
* nowledge of Patient Safety Incident Response Framework (PSIRF) and learning responses.
* Evidence of Continuing Professional Development
* Understanding of risk management to a high level.
* Able to demonstrate involvement with implementing new processes, project management or introduction and managing training for implementation of new equipment in clinical working.
* Knowledge of the QSI and BSI standards, RCR, SoR or NICE Publications.
* Knowledge of imaging KPIs and national targets
* Understanding of eWTD and workforce management.
