About Us
HyFlux LTD is a clean aviation technology company developing superconducting cryogenic electric motors to transform aircraft propulsion.
Our mission is to pioneer cryogenic electric propulsion solutions that radically improve aircraft performance, efficiency, and environmental impact, leading to true zero emissions propulsion.
Our vision is to become a global leader in sustainable aerospace propulsion, delivering transformational technology with measurable impact for investors, partners, and the planet.
We have recently been awarded a grant is excess of £1 million from the UK's Aerospace Technology Institute and are now seeking a Design and Test Engineer to expand our team to deliver this project and develop our technology.
The Role
We're looking for a hands-on, forward-thinking Design and Test Engineer to join our small but fast-moving team. If you're excited by ambitious hardware challenges and want to help shape the future of aviation, we'd love to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
Design and analysis
· Design of test rig(s) for thermal, mechanical and electromagnetic testing of superconducting motors and cryogenic heat exchangers.
· Develop 2D drawings and 3D models of components.
· Prepare P&ID diagrams for test rig.
· Assist with modelling and design of critical components of a superconducting motor, heat exchangers and associated test equipment, from early-stage concepts to manufacturable assemblies.
· Perform FEA of selected components.
· Prepare and manage engineering drawings and documentation for prototyping and supplier communication.
Delivery
· Collaborate with external manufacturers to ensure parts are production-ready and meet tolerance/fitment requirements.
· Liaise with test house(s) to ensure test rig is compatible with test facilities and safety protocols and suitable test slots are negotiated and secured.
Configuration control
· Manage configuration e.g. CAD models, e-BOM, m-BOM and product change process of all products i.e. motor, heat exchanger and test rig.
· Help shape design and documentation workflows as we scale up.
Other
