Your New Role...
As part of our Contribution Engineering team, you will play a crucial role in designing and installing contribution technology across the EMEA region. Your work will support both everyday operations and major live sporting events, ensuring that TNT Sports and Eurosport deliver an exceptional viewing experience.
In this hybrid role, you’ll collaborate closely with production and sports technology teams, influencing technology choices and workflow designs for high-profile events like the Grand Slam and the Olympics. You’ll be based in Chiswick Park, London, with the flexibility to work up to three days a week in the office and travel to major events.
Your Role Accountabilities…
* Design and implement contribution compression systems for TNT Sports/Eurosport across EMEA.
* Collaborate with Sports Technology, Production, and Operations teams to deliver innovative projects and services.
* Champion new contribution technologies, showcasing their benefits to the business.
* Manage third-party suppliers, ensuring clear requirements, adherence to SLAs, and risk mitigation.
* Stay updated on the latest technologies to enhance our broadcast capabilities.
* Provide expert technical support, troubleshooting and resolving issues promptly.
Qualifications & Experience...
* Degree-level education or relevant experience in a broadcast environment.
* Familiarity with current compression standards.
* Understanding of broadcast video signal chains and audio workflows (PCM, Dolby D/E).
* Self-motivated with the ability to advance projects independently.
* Skilled in managing multiple workflows and prioritizing responsibilities in a dynamic environment.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of conveying complex technical information clearly.
* Willingness to travel for major events and adapt to the fast-paced nature of sports broadcasting.
Desirable Skills...
* Knowledge of JPEG 2000/XS, H264/HEVC, and NDI.
* Familiarity with SMPTE 2022-7, 2110, NMOS, and SDN.
* Understanding of UHD, HDR, and Dolby Atmos formats.
* Experience in remote production and deploying systems in AWS and GCP.
* Knowledge of LTE contribution and internet contribution (SRT/RIST/ZIXI).
* Experience in MCR operations and engineering.
Hybrid Working
This role offers a hybrid work model, combining remote and in-office work, in line with our company policy and your Line Manager's agreement. Please note that this arrangement may be adjusted based on business needs.
