Senior Quantity Surveyor Role Overview Youll oversee the commercial and financial management of major construction projects from inception to completion. Working closely with project and site teams, youll ensure cost efficiency, accurate forecasting, risk management, and strong client and subcontractor relationships.
Senior Quantity Surveyor Key Responsibilities Manage all commercial aspects of multi-million-pound construction projects.
Prepare and monitor cost plans, budgets, and forecasts.
Lead valuations, variations, payments, and final accounts.
Identify and mitigate commercial risks and opportunities.
Support procurement and supply chain strategies.
Produce regular commercial reports for senior management.
Mentor and guide junior commercial team members.
Senior Quantity Surveyor Requirements Degree qualified and/or MRICS (or equivalent).
Minimum 8 years experience in UK construction.
Proven track record delivering complex projects for a main contractor.
Strong negotiation, reporting, and stakeholder management skills.
Commercially astute with excellent financial and analytical ability.
Willingness to travel to regional sites when required.
Senior Quantity Surveyor Desirable Experience Exposure to framework or repeat-client projects.
Experience promoting sustainability and social value in construction.
Leadership in process improvement or mentoring teams.
