Financial Accounts Assistant Harlow Bros - Long Whatton
A new role has arisen within the department due to the continued growth of the Group and an increasing requirement to provide regular financial information to the board of directors.
The Accounts department is looking for a keen, self starter to enable the team to provide great support to all areas of the Group and create more added value opportunities from within the team.
There will be some travel to Group sites to understand culture and specific issues, as well as forming good relationships with senior management and local Accounts staff.
Full training and support will be given alongside study support for ongoing accounting qualifications.
Responsibilities
Preparation of daily cash book and monthly bank reconciliations
Assisting with Credit Control duties to include cash posting, customer queries and order release
Assisting Purchase Ledger with inputting invoices, queries, supplier statement reconciliations and payment runs
Preparing Intercompany recharge invoices
Manage the Ebay, Paypal, Amazon, Onbuy and credit card accounts
Monthly reconciliation of the cash sale clearing control accounts
Preparing & processing of monthly journals
Assisting in the preparation and delivery of monthly management accounts and involvement in the Year End processes and routines including monthly balance sheet reconciliations
Balancing the petty cash tin and recording transactions
Assisting with the preparation and submission of National Statistics Returns
Assisting group statutory environmental reporting requirements
Assisting in preparation of monthly Fixed Asset postings
Eventual preparation and submission of VAT Return(s)
Potential future monthly payroll support and preparation
Assisting with the preparation of annual Budget and Forecasts
Training and support of the Accounts Administrator
Provide remote cover when required for all group companies
Skills
Ability to work as part of a team
Ability to prioritise own workload
Good basic Excel skills with ability to explain to others as well as open to learning new techniques
The successful candidate will need to be a good communicator, working as part of a small accounts team and as part of the wider Harlow Group.
Ability to listen to, interpret and explain Accounts processes and techniques to non Financial colleagues
Confident when initially meeting new colleagues within the Group and able to propose potential new processes or approaches
Hard working and prepared to support colleagues at busy times of the month
2-3 Years experience working in an accounting environment
AAT Level 3, possibly working towards Level 4 or can show good relevant experience
