You will work closely with product owners, data operations professionals, data analysts, product managers, business stakeholders, and your team to define, implement, and deliver significant, innovative improvements to our GIS platform and products.
We are seeking a GIS Release Engineer responsible for overseeing the deployment and release management of GIS applications and solutions. This role involves planning, coordinating, and controlling release processes to ensure GIS updates and new features are delivered efficiently with minimal disruption to business operations.
What you’ll do as a GIS Release Engineer
1. Release Planning & Coordination:
o Develop and manage GIS release schedules in collaboration with GIS Developers, Architects, and stakeholders.
o Coordinate with teams to ensure timely and smooth deployment of GIS solutions.
o Ensure adherence to release management processes and best practices.
2. Change & Risk Management:
o Identify and mitigate risks associated with GIS releases.
o Assess the impact of GIS releases and manage changes effectively with stakeholders.
o Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
3. Quality Assurance & Deployment:
o Conduct release testing and validation to ensure quality and reliability.
o Implement automation tools and processes to enhance release efficiency.
o Monitor deployments and address post-release issues.
4. Collaboration & Continuous Improvement:
o Work closely with IT, GIS Developers, and support teams to streamline processes.
o Maintain documentation for release procedures.
o Continuously improve workflows to enhance operational efficiency.
Location: Hybrid – Clearwater Court, Reading.
Working pattern: 36 hours, Monday to Friday.
What you should bring to the role:
* Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
* Experience in release management or software deployment within a GIS environment.
* Experience with version control systems, CI/CD pipelines, and automated deployment tools.
* Strong understanding of GIS technologies such as Esri ArcGIS, spatial databases, and cloud GIS solutions.
* Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
* Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
