Mechanical Design Engineer – Fuel Injection Systems | Kent | Competitive Salary Hybrid Working I'm recruiting for a global engineering client in Kent who are looking to expand their mechanical design team. They’re hiring a Mechanical Design Engineer to support R&D, manufacturing, and aftermarket development of diesel fuel injection systems. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join a high-performing team working on innovative, high-precision components in the clean automotive and industrial powertrain sector. The Role: Design high-pressure diesel fuel injection pumps and related components Create 3D models and detailed drawings using SolidWorks/NX/CATIA Analyse test and simulation data to guide design improvements Support DFMEA and participate in product development reviews Collaborate with internal teams to assess manufacturability and cost Apply GD&T principles and work to tight tolerance, high-precision standards Liaise with suppliers and manufacturing teams to bring designs to production ✅ What You’ll Need: Degree in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering (or equivalent experience) 5–10 years’ experience in a mechanical design or product development role Strong knowledge of CAD (SolidWorks/NX/CATIA), GD&T, and DFM principles Experience with DFMEA and design optimisation tools (Pugh, VA/VE, etc.) Good communication and collaboration skills across engineering teams Experience designing for high-precision manufacturing environments What’s on Offer: Salary DOE up to £8,000 relocation support Hybrid working – up to 2 days from home (post-probation) 25 days holiday bank holidays On-site gym and subsidised restaurant Pension, dental plan & EAP Strong long-term development and training opportunities Work for a global brand with a clean-tech mission This is a key role for someone who wants to make an impact in sustainable powertrain design while benefiting from excellent flexibility, relocation support, and long-term progression.
