About the Roles
We are currently recruiting multiple SEND Teaching Assistants to support a range of primary and secondary settings across East Leeds. These roles involve supporting pupils with a variety of needs, including:
1. Autism (ASC)
2. ADHD
3. Speech, Language & Communication Needs
4. Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD)
5. Social, Emotional & Mental Health (SEMH)
6. Complex or multiple learning needs
Positions are available on a temp‑to‑perm basis, offering a clear pathway to long‑term opportunities within supportive and inclusive school environments.
Key Responsibilities
7. Deliver 1:1 or small‑group support tailored to individual EHCPs
8. Promote engagement, confidence, and independence in learning
9. Support pupils with communication, emotional regulation, and sensory needs
10. Adapt activities and resources to suit different learning styles
11. Work closely with class teachers, SENCOs, and external specialists
12. Provide consistent, calm behaviour and emotional support
13. Track and report progress, engagement, and areas of need
What We’re Looking For
14. Experience working with children or young people with SEND (school, youth work, residential, or care backgrounds welcome)
15. A nurturing, patient, and resilient approach
16. Strong communication and teamwork skills
17. Ability to adapt quickly and think creatively
18. A genuine passion for supporting young people to thrive
19. Training such as Team Teach, Autism Awareness, Makaton, or SEND‑specific CPD is advantageous but not essential
20. Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
