The Role
As a Project Planner, you’ll be at the heart of our Mission Systems business area, supporting a wide range of exciting design, manufacture, and equipment support projects. This is your opportunity to lead the development and delivery of integrated schedules that drive project success - on time, to budget, and with measurable impact.
You’ll be part of a growing team within SSNA, collaborating across disciplines and working with internal stakeholders to deliver critical defence and aerospace programmes. Your work will directly contribute to national security and global safety, while accelerating your career in a dynamic and forward-thinking environment.
Day-to-day, you’ll be required to:
1. Leading project teams to develop and deliver detailed integrated schedules using earned value techniques (EVM).
2. Creating scenario plans and analysing variations to baselines.
3. Collaborating with Project Managers, Control Account Managers, and wider stakeholders.
4. Driving performance through effective schedule management and reporting.
5. Supporting the Planning Discipline and contributing to continuous improvement.
This role is full time, 37 hours per week and provides flexible hybrid working arrangements with days onsite and days working from home.
Essential experience of the Project Planner
6. Proficient in project scheduling software such as Primavera P6 and MS Project.
7. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
8. Excellent analytical, planning, and time management abilities.
9. Comfortable with IT systems and tools.
10. Experience in project delivery environments and governance artefacts (e.g., Project Management Plans).
Qualifications for the Project Planner
While no formal qualifications are essential, a foundational understanding of project controls—planning, risk, and cost—is highly desirable. Experience with scheduling software and at least one year in a project delivery setting is expected.

The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
