Commissioning Manager - Power Generation / Energy from Waste\n £100,000 - £120,000 + Package\n UK Wide\n\nThis is a senior-level Commissioning Manager / Project Commissioning Lead position, overseeing the commissioning of multiple Power Generation and Energy from Waste (EfW) projects across the UK.\n\nThe role holder will take full responsibility for the planning, execution, and management of commissioning activities from pre-commissioning through to handover, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.\n\nYou will lead multi-disciplinary teams and work closely with contractors, project managers, and site teams to ensure technical excellence and compliance at every stage.\n\nRole & Responsibilities\n\nDevelop and implement commissioning strategies, plans, and procedures for multiple power generation and EfW projects.\nLead and manage commissioning teams on-site, including engineers, technicians, and subcontractors.\nOversee all commissioning activities, from system energisation and functional testing through to performance testing and client handover.\nEnsure strict adherence to health & safety, environmental, and quality standards.\nCoordinate with project stakeholders to resolve technical and operational issues.\nReport on commissioning progress, key milestones, and any risk areas to senior management and clients.\nDevelop and maintain commissioning documentation, including procedures, test sheets, and final reports.\nSupport training and handover to permanent site operations teams post-commissioning.\nContinuously review processes to identify improvements and efficiencies across projects.\nProvide technical input during design, construction, and FAT stages to ensure commissioning requirements are built in from the start. Requirements\n\nDegree or equivalent in Mechanical, Electrical, Process, or Chemical Engineering.\nExtensive experience in commissioning large-scale power generation, EfW, or process industry projects.\nStrong leadership skills with experience managing multi-disciplinary site teams.\nExcellent technical knowledge of boilers, steam turbines, balance of plant, and emissions control systems.\nProven ability to manage commissioning schedules, budgets, and stakeholder expectations.\nStrong understanding of health, safety, and environmental compliance requirements.\nExceptional problem-solving, communication, and organisational skills.\nWillingness to travel and stay away from home as required across UK project sites.\nFull UK Driving Licence.Package Details\n\nSalary between £100,000 - £120,000 per annum, depending on experience.\nComprehensive benefits package including car allowance, bonus scheme, pension, and private healthcare.\nOpportunities for long-term progression and involvement in high-profile UK energy projects.\nTravel and accommodation expenses covered for site-based work.To apply for this role please send your CV or call Ashley on (phone number removed) for more information. \n\nEqually if this role would not be of interest to you but may be for a suitable friend or colleague, we can offer paid referral fees for successful placements.\n\nINDW
