SQL Database Administrator Job Description: We are currently seeking a SQL Database Administrator to take responsibility for deploying, administering, monitoring, and improving databases and integrations for Sage's internal applications. As a SQL Database Administrator at Sage, you'll work closely with delivery teams to bridge the gap between Development and Operations, ensuring databases are consistently available, secure, and high-performing. Please note that this role is hybrid and will require you to work 3 days a week from our Newcastle office. Key Responsibilities: - Design, implement, and optimize on-premises and cloud database architectures that support business applications while ensuring high availability, scalability, and performance. - Monitor database performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to improve system efficiency. - Manage database and tool migrations, upgrades, and patch implementations. - Implement and maintain backup and recovery procedures to ensure data integrity and business continuity. Requirements - Extensive expertise in MS SQL Server. - Skilled in query optimization, indexing, and high-availability configurations (e.g., Always On Availability Groups). - Experience with Snowflake (preferred). - Familiarity with MySQL and PostgreSQL is a plus. - Experience managing and supporting cloud databases on Azure and AWS.
