Job Summary
:
To provide generalist HR advice and support to managers and employees in UKM on a range of people management activities including strategy, talent acquisition, onboarding, performance management and development, employee relations, employee engagement and reward.
To provide an efficient operational HR service to UKM teams including timely processing and communication for new hires, promotions, transfers or other changes to Terms & Conditions, and maintenance of accurate HR data.Supporting the creation of MI reports and dashboards and supporting the wider HR UKM team in people related initiatives.
The role is part of the HR team in UKM and will include working in collaboration with other HR colleagues in projects aligned to the functional HR and business objectives.
Essential Functions & Accountabilities:
1. Proactively provide generalist HR advice and support to UKM managers and employees in line with Company policies and procedures and relevant employment legislation where applicable.
2. In partnership with the Talent Acquisition Team and the UKM HR team, advise and assist managers with recruitment campaigns, writing of job descriptions and co-ordinating and supporting interviews and assessment centres.
3. Coach managers to enable them to manage and develop their team’s performance in line with the Company’s Performance Enablement Process.
4. Advise and guide managers on salary and benefits processes in line with relevant Company Policies.
5. Support the exit interviews for leavers and conduct stay interviews as required for UKM, producing data insights to help provide information on retention, recruitment and engagement strategies.
6. Support managers to analyse Engagement Survey feedback and support design and implementation of action plans in regard to appropriate improvement activities.
7. Prepare and issue contractual documents including for new hires, promotions, transfers or changes to terms and conditions of employment.
8. Maintain accurate HRIS data for employees in the designated business areas.
9. Design and deliver HR training workshops (. performance management, engagement, employee relations, absence management and employment law).
10. Collaborate with the Learning & Development function to raise awareness of development opportunities and address development needs arising in defined business areas.
11. Advise and assist managers with assisted departures and liaison with external legal advisors.
12. Working closely with the ER team to assist managers with Employee Relations processes as required, including absence management, disciplinaries, grievances and investigations in line with legislation and company procedures. Liaise with ER and external legal advisors when necessary.
13. Contribute to the improvement and development of HR Policies and Procedures ensuring compliance with employment legislation where applicable.
14. Lead or participate in improvement projects in line with the functional HR objectives.
15. Work in partnership with HR Directors, HR Business Partners and wider HR team with any ad hoc duties and projects to identify and drive improvement projects aimed at attracting, maintaining and developing an exceptional CooperVision team and at improving the HR function.
16. Any other related duties connected with the Company’s business as may be required.
Travel Requirements
This role does not require any foreign travel, but travel is likely required between UK sites based in Hampshire.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

18. MS Office skills including Word, Excel, Team, PowerPoint and Outlook.
19. HR information systems experience (Oracle HCM would be advantageous).
20. Have strong data skills, be confident in building reports and providing data insights.
21. Up to date knowledge of UK employment law.
22. Ability to build and develop relationships with stakeholders.
23. Ability to communicate clearly, concisely and effectively at all levels.
24. Proactive and able to use initiative to develop solutions and have a can-do attitude.

33. Able to work additional hours as necessary to achieve required performance.
34. Requirement to work irregular hours and in different locations to suit the needs of a 24/7 business.
35. Requirement to occasionally work in a clean room environment.
Experience and Education
36. Extensive relevant HR experience (min 5 years) ideally gained in a fast moving, 24/7, manufacturing/operations environment.
37. Relevant HR experience including advising and guiding managers in a range of people management activities.
38. Ideally will have experience of participating or leading HR projects.
39. Experience working in a fast-paced environment.
40. Experience of working in a matrix organisation and with centres of excellence.
41. CIPD professional qualification at level 5, is desirable.
42. A high level of general education including demonstrable literacy and numeracy skills.Ideally degree level education.
