Architectural building regs pd

West Bromwich
The Annoying Recruiter
Posted: 16 October
Offer description

Architects aren’t required by law on a project. A BR PD is.

So there’s no need for you to further question then why in this practice the salary, the respect and value for your time, are vastly improved if you take on a Building Regs Consultant job full time.

You do not need to be the finished product to get this job. Nobody is in this field yet.

Your career prospects are going to suddenly improve. Not just internally at an Architectural practice. A whole new world of building safety is opened up, where the pay, conditions and progression would be completely unattainable in traditional Architecture.

Without fee targets on your time you can concentrate on delivering a quality service internally and externally. You’ll influence and shape board level decisions regularly and be involved in every major project. Can you do that even as a Senior Architect or Associate?

There’ll never really be any reason to do more than your contracted hours. Not every organisation type has a ‘by the seat of your pants’ resourcing style or business model that relies on taking advantage of employees (that’s what lots of unpaid hours is).

You’ll still do DTMs (but from a different seat), you’ll still visit branches across the UK and get know at least 200 new people.

A significant bonus worth £3,000+ will add to your overall earnings, reflecting the impact you’ll have on the business.

You’ll also enjoy lots of other little benefits like next level maternity leave if that’s relevant to you (Enhanced Paternity too). They’re the kind of practice who do everything they can to assist and retain the people that work here.

What you'll do

Firstly you’ll ensure your up to scratch with regards personal training and competence. You probably already are, maybe without knowing it.

You'll lead and manage the Building Regs PD department, where you’ll offer in house assistance, advice, services and training.

Over time, this could expand to include an external client work you and the team could be consulting for.

Occasional travel to branches across the country will keep things interesting and help you build a wider network.

You’ll act as the main duty holder on many projects and guide others through the process, sharing your knowledge and expertise.

You’ll also take charge of recruiting and building a dedicated team, giving you full control over the department’s direction and standards.

What you'll need

Qualified Architectural Professional, either a qualified Architect or a MCIAT registered Technologist. This will allow you to become PD registered with CIAT or RIBA in the near future.

Good knowledge and some experience of performing Building Regs PD duties.

Experience of working on HRBs and at least some understanding of the gateway process.

About the company

One of a handful of national Architectural Practices that know how to do business, looks after their people and grows no matter what is happening to others. They have offices throughout the UK, making this a position of national significance.

Don’t worry if your CV isn’t up to date or if you can’t apply right now. Instead message Matt Kirk on LinkedIn or show him your LinkedIn profile. We’ll take it from there.
