Job Description:
Reeson Education is seeking an enthusiastic and committed Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in the M34 area. This full-time, long-term Teaching Assistant role will involve supporting Year 6 pupils with a range of learning, emotional, and behavioural needs.
As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher and SEND team to provide tailored support that helps every child feel confident, included, and able to reach their full potential. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant who is passionate about making a real difference in the lives of pupils preparing for their transition to secondary school.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide one-to-one and small group support to Year 6 pupils with a range of additional needs.
2. Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering engaging lessons and activities.
3. Support children's emotional regulation, confidence, and social skills throughout the school day.
4. Encourage positive behaviour and help pupils stay focused and motivated.
5. Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and other Teaching Assistants to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
6. Monitor and record pupil progress, sharing observations with teaching staff and parents when required.
7. Ensure the safety, well-being, and happiness of all pupils in your care.
Requirements:
8. Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role is essential.
9. Confidence supporting pupils with additional needs, including ADHD, autism, or SEMH.
10. A caring, patient, and proactive attitude with a genuine passion for education.
11. Ability to work effectively as part of a team and follow direction from senior staff.
12. Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils and colleagues.
13. A valid DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one through Reeson Education.
