Programme Lead – Public Services
Salary: £34,391 – £44,558 per annum
Hours: 37 hours per week
Working pattern: Monday to Thursday 7.5 hours per day / Friday 7 hours per day
Location: Abingdon Campus

This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated educator to lead and shape our Public Services programmes, which span Levels 1 to 3. You will design and coordinate study programmes that inspire students to pursue careers in the uniformed services, civil service, and other public sector roles.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the planning and delivery of Public Services programmes.
* Coordinate learning plans and contribute to timetable development.
* Design engaging programme inductions and complete learner profiles.
* Monitor academic progress and conduct tutorials and performance reviews.
* Support students with work experience and progression planning.
* Maintain accurate course data and oversee internal verification.
* Liaise with employers and public sector organisations to enhance industry placements.
* Attend advisory board meetings and contribute to curriculum improvement.
* Ensure systems such as EBS and Markbook are up to date.
* Provide guidance during student interviews and EHCP reviews.
Essential Experience
* Degree-level qualification in Public Services or a related subject.
* Qualified Teacher Status (or willingness to achieve).
* Experience teaching in the Public Services curriculum area.
* Strong teaching and pastoral support skills.
* Understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
* Level 2 qualifications (or willingness to achieve) in literacy and numeracy.
* Excellent organisational and administrative abilities.
* Commitment to student achievement and progression.
Desirable Experience
* BTEC Lead Internal Verifier qualification.
* Level 2 IT qualification (or willingness to achieve).
* Experience teaching in a post‑16 setting.
* Strong industry links with public sector organisations.
