Job Description
This role involves leading the Youth Justice Service and MASH teams in Romford, ensuring effective service delivery in line with current legislation and guidance. The position requires on-site presence for at least 3 days a week, with a duration of 3 months, potentially extendable.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide strategic leadership to develop integrated, child-centered services.
* Ensure safeguarding thresholds and multi-agency working are effectively implemented.
* Maintain a strong understanding of youth offending legislation, diversion, and restorative justice.
* Identify and respond to extra-familial harm, including exploitation.
* Build effective partnerships across sectors for joined-up services.
* Utilize data and quality frameworks to improve service quality.
Essential Skills and Experience:
* Proven ability in strategic leadership within children’s services.
* Deep understanding of safeguarding, multi-agency collaboration, and youth offending legislation.
* Experience in service redesign, workforce development, and cultural change is desirable.
* Strong partnership-building and data-driven improvement skills.
Additional Requirements:
* Social work qualification and registration with SW England.
* Extensive post-qualification training.
* Proven experience in social care quality assurance and improvement.
* Knowledge of social care regulations and policies.
* Excellent communication, analytical, and collaborative skills.
* Must have access to own vehicle or alternative transport.
Working Arrangements:
* On-site work at Town Hall, Romford, with minimum 3 days per week.
* Transport links available via car or public transport.
