An interesting job opportunity has arisen at City Auctioneering for a yard operative. Suitable applicants should possess the following: - Forklift licence. Practical D.I.Y skills A can-do attitude including working to strict deadlines. Car owner driver, there is no public transport available. Ability to deal with and sort scrap metal. Enjoy meeting people and working in a small team. The job comprises. General organisation of the yard. Keeping it clean and tidy and ensuring access is always available. Using the forklift for unloading/loading the goods from/to delivery lorries. Moving stock safely around the yard and between buildings Manual handling including disgorging and sorting stock for sale preparation. Dealing with a wide assortment of items from car spares to electrical stock, ever changing, no two days are the same. Able bodied, as some lifting is required, very physical job. Communicating with buyers face to face to manage their collection of goods after the auctions. Carefully selecting the clients items and ensuring they are correctly and safely packaged ready for courier collection. Full C.V. required including a list of outside interests. Hours Monday to Friday 8.30am - 5.00pm, with 30-minute lunchbreak. Hourly wage open to discussion and, dependent on experience. Trial session available to see if the position works for both sides.
