About Our Opportunity
We're looking for an experienced Maintenance Planner to join our Engineering team at our Newmarket site. This is a key role responsible for coordinating and optimising maintenance activities across fixed and mobile plant, equipment, and facilities. You'll be instrumental in driving operational efficiency by developing and maintaining systems that support planned preventative maintenance (PPM), improving uptime, and ensuring legal and safety compliance.
This is a great opportunity to work in a fast-paced, hands-on manufacturing environment where continuous improvement, reliability, and safety are at the heart of everything we do.
What You Will Be Doing
* Coordinating and planning all maintenance activities across the site to ensure minimal downtime and full compliance with H&S and engineering regulations.
* Developing and improving our Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to enhance scheduling, resource planning, and documentation.
* Supporting the Maintenance Manager and Assistant Manager with the execution of PPM strategies, shutdown planning, and work order management.
* Tracking and reporting key performance indicators including completed work orders, delays, breakdowns, and expenditures.
* Communicating effectively across departments to ensure machinery faults, spares requirements, and maintenance updates are shared promptly.
* Raising and monitoring purchase requisitions for spare parts and liaising with the Engineering Stores to ensure stock availability.
* Working closely with Operations and Engineering teams to identify and support opportunities for continuous improvement.
* Deputising for the Assistant Maintenance Manager or Stores & Purchasing Coordinator when required.
* Collaborating with external contractors and issuing permits to work as per company procedures.
About You
You’ll be an organised, hands-on professional with solid experience in maintenance planning in a manufacturing or processing environment. You are proactive, technically minded, and thrive in a role that combines strategic planning with practical execution.
To Be Successful In This Role, You Will Have
* Proven maintenance planning experience, ideally in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
* Experience with Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) systems and CMMS platforms.
* Strong communication and organisational skills, with the ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
* A proactive and analytical mindset with a keen eye for problem-solving and process improvement.
* A confident, approachable attitude with the ability to work cross-functionally and build strong working relationships.
* Good attention to detail and document control practices.
* A flexible approach and willingness to take on varied tasks as needed.
You’ll Also Demonstrate Behaviours That Reflect Our Values
* A strong sense of responsibility and work ethic.
* The drive to deliver high standards and continuous improvement.
* Confidence in decision-making and learning from setbacks.
* Loyalty to the team and business, always willing to support others.
Ready to play a key role in the reliability and success of our site operations?
Apply today and become a valued part of our maintenance and engineering team.
