What You’ll Do: Oversee food production during and after service and ensure all tasks are done to the company standard Supply Chain Management- Carry out food ordering efficiently when required working with stores supervisor Effective managing of food waste, and recording of data on a daily basis Support with recruitment, induction and develop talented employees within the kitchen Establish and maintain productive working relationships with individuals at all levels within the School and Sodexo. Assist the catering management in interviewing, recruiting, inducting, and management of staff according to the needs of the site and within the procedures laid down by the company and/or School. To have special regard to the welfare of your team and to organise regular and effective staff briefings/ team huddles To carry out any reasonable request by a member of the management team What You Bring: Essential: Experience cooking on a large scale (1000–2200 students) Experienced Chef who has operated in a busy kitchen, with all round knowledge of cooking processes, food preparation and finished dishes. Flexible, with the ability to work under pressure and across a range of shifts and service times Experience following recipes in a professional kitchen Strong knowledge of fresh produce and ingredient preparation NVQ level 2 Food Production certificate or equivalent Some knowledge of numeracy to support with recipe building Good communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to be an effective team player Strong ability to increase individuals’ effectiveness through leadership, motivation, communication, coaching and training Excellent time management and organisational skills Ability to set and maintain standards Desirable: Ability to review problems analytically, develop opportunities and implement innovative solutions / approaches PC literate What We Offer: A dynamic and supportive work environment Competitive salary and benefits Full training and protective uniform provided No unsociable hours and public holidays off—including Christmas!
