West Berkshire Council is seeking a dedicated Restorative Justice Officer to join our West Berkshire Youth Justice Support team.
The Role
As a Restorative Justice Officer, you will be responsible for:
* Delivering restorative justice interventions to children and young people, ensuring their needs are met and supporting them in achieving positive outcomes.
* Working closely with other professionals, such as social workers and educators, to provide comprehensive support to individuals engaged in restorative processes.
* Assessing and managing risks associated with restorative justice interventions.
* Facilitating restorative conferences and meetings, promoting effective communication and understanding between parties involved.
* Monitoring and evaluating the impact of restorative justice interventions, providing feedback and reports as required.
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and attributes:
* Experience and knowledge of restorative justice principles and practices, ideally within a Youth Justice Service context.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, young people, and other stakeholders.
* Excellent organisational and time management abilities, with the capacity to manage a diverse caseload effectively.
* A collaborative approach, working well within a team and also independently when required.
* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
This role is fixed term until 14th June 2027 – Maternity cover.
