About the Role
Our CESR rotational programme at University Hospitals of Leicester offers a comprehensive training and teaching package for successful applicants. The rotation is a fixed‑term contract of 8 months (until August 2026). The post holder must be registered with the GMC and hold a licence to practice. A designated Consultant supervisor will guide the completion of your CESR dossier, including formalised in‑house Annual Review of Competence Progression (ARCP) and revalidation appraisal.
Responsibilities
* Act as a middle‑grade doctor capable of unsupervised duties under departmental direction.
* Work rotas with Specialist Trainees (junior/senior) across antenatal clinics, gynaecology clinics, and gynaecology theatre sessions.
* Provide on‑call commitments covering all clinical aspects of obstetrics and gynaecology.
* Participate actively in clinical audit, risk management, and clinical governance.
* Organise and lead clinical meetings and teaching sessions.
Qualifications
* Registered with the General Medical Council (GMC) and holding a valid licence to practice.
* Competent in the management of obstetric and gynaecological emergencies.
* Ready for post‑graduate medical training and supervision within a large maternity unit.
Training & Development
* Advanced training in Ambulatory Gynaecology, Benign Gynaecology, Emergency Gynaecology and Early Pregnancy, Reproductive Medicine, Maternal Medicine, Advanced Antenatal Practice, Labour Ward, Oncology, and Urogynaecology.
* Structured supervision and mentoring by experienced Consultants and MRCOG examiners.
* Access to a comprehensive CESR support programme with mandatory ARCP, appraisal and revalidation processes.
