We’re excited to be recruiting a Mechanical Project Design Engineer. You will be part of the engineering team and will be required to support the activities of the engineering workshop in the development and production of new build machines for internal and external customers. Reporting to the Production Operations Manager you will work closely with the Workshop Supervisor and Buyer. As the ideal candidate you will be driven, able to work under their own initiative and has a keen attention to detail. Main duties & Responsibilities: • Managing and updating the CAD BOM in Autodesk Inventor/Vault, and on our in-house PLM system. • New product development of our Road Repair Machines • Creation of engineering drawings • Helping to answer engineering queries arising from our Fleet Operations. • Keeping up to date with relevant standards, such as Individual Vehicle Approval (IVA) and the Machinery Directive (CE Marking) • To produce design related documentation to support both Fleet Operations and CE compliance • Working within the ISO quality framework Essential requirements, skills, qualifications and experience: • Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering • Experience of using Autodesk Inventor and Vault • Competent in the use of IT systems and be familiar with the Microsoft 365 suite • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills • Analytical and problem-solving skills with a good attention to detail • Ability to perform hand calculations on light structural components • Knowledge of the design of light fabrication and bolted assemblies • Be willing to travel occasionally throughout the UK or worldwide to support Fleet Operations/customer requirements as required.
