A welcoming and supportive primary school in South Manchester is seeking a qualified teacher to deliver Year 6 writing interventions from 1st June, continuing into the new academic year in September. The role is for 5 mornings per week and is ideal for teachers looking for a better work-life balance while still making a meaningful impact on pupil progress.
The school is located within easy reach of Manchester city centre, Stockport, Didsbury, Chorlton and surrounding South Manchester areas, with excellent public transport and commuter links available.
This role will focus specifically on supporting Year 6 pupils with writing interventions in preparation for end-of-key-stage expectations. There is no full-class teaching requirement unless additional afternoon cover is needed on occasion.
The role
Delivering targeted writing interventions for Year 6 pupils
Supporting pupils in developing confidence, stamina and attainment in writing
Working with small groups and targeted learners
Collaborating with the Year 6 team and school leadership
5 mornings per week from 1st June
Continuing into September 2026
No planning for full-class teaching required as part of the core role
Optional afternoon cover opportunities where needed

The ideal candidate
UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Experience teaching Upper Key Stage 2
Strong understanding of Year 6 writing expectations
Confident delivering targeted interventions and booster sessions
Ability to motivate and support pupils approaching SATs and transition
