Job Title: Fabricating Specialist Location: Colchester, Essex Job Type: Full-time, Permanent About the Role We are looking for a skilled and reliable Fabricator to join our workshop team in Colchester. The successful candidate will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and finishing metal components to high-quality standards, working from technical drawings and specifications. This is a hands-on role suited to someone with strong attention to detail, good practical skills, and experience in metal fabrication or engineering environments. Key Responsibilities Fabricate metal components and structures from engineering drawings and specifications Cut, shape, weld, and assemble materials such as steel, aluminium, and stainless steel Operate workshop machinery including saws, grinders, drills, and welding equipment Carry out MIG, TIG, or arc welding as required Inspect finished work to ensure accuracy, quality, and compliance with standards Carry out basic fitting and assembly tasks as part of production or installation projects Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workshop environment Follow all health and safety procedures and company policies Work collaboratively with engineers, designers, and site teams Requirements Proven experience as a Fabricator, Sheet Metal Worker, or similar role Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and measurements Experience in welding and metal fabrication techniques Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship Good understanding of workshop health and safety practices Ability to work independently and as part of a team Reliable, punctual, and motivated attitude Desirable Skills Welding certifications (MIG/TIG/ARC) Experience working with structural steel or bespoke fabrication Forklift licence or overhead crane experience NVQ or City & Guilds qualification in Fabrication and Welding or similar Experience in construction, manufacturing, or engineering sectors What We Offer Competitive salary based on experience Stable, full-time employment Overtime opportunities available Training and upskilling support Pension scheme Paid holiday entitlement Friendly and supportive workshop environment How to Apply Please send your CV and a brief summary of your fabrication experience to apply for this role.
